How to reset a garden with six safe jobs
Garden jobs change with the weather and can hide sharp tools, animal waste or broken glass. An adult should check the area first, then hand over only the safe, visible jobs.

Adult check first. Keep heat, sharp objects, chemicals, broken items, heavy lifting and anything uncertain with a grown-up. Choose jobs that fit the child, the room and today.
The small-job list
Collect outdoor toys
Put balls, chalk, buckets and ride-on toys in their usual box, shed or covered corner.
Gather safe litter
Pick up paper and clean packaging with gloves. Leave glass, metal, animal waste and unknown objects for an adult.
Stack empty pots
Place empty plastic pots together by size. Leave cracked ceramic and heavy planters where they are.
Coil the hose
Turn off the tap, drain the end and loop the hose loosely where nobody will trip.
Water one plant group
Water the agreed pots or bed until the soil looks damp. An adult chooses what needs water.
Clear one walking path
Move toys and light objects away from the main path. Do not lift tools, paving or heavy furniture.
